WHAT IS TESTOSTERONE THERAPY?
Testosterone is the primary male hormone, and it influences far more than libido. It plays a role in energy, mood, mental focus, muscle mass, bone strength, and how the body manages fat. From roughly age 30 onward, men's testosterone tends to decline slowly each year. For some men that decline stays unnoticeable; for others it reaches a point—often called low testosterone, "low T," or andropause—where it affects how they feel and function day to day.
Testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) restores testosterone toward a healthy, individualized range under medical supervision. At Enhance Aesthetics & Wellness in Yuma, AZ, Marina Roloff, DNP, FNP-C, leads a lab-based, monitored approach to hormone therapy for men. Testosterone therapy is never started on symptoms alone—it begins with bloodwork that confirms whether your levels are genuinely low.
SIGNS OF LOW TESTOSTERONE IN MEN
Low testosterone can develop gradually enough that it is easy to write off as stress or simply getting older. Common symptoms men describe include:
- Persistent fatigue or low energy, even after rest
- Reduced sex drive or changes in sexual function
- Loss of muscle tone and difficulty maintaining strength
- Increased body fat, particularly around the midsection
- Difficulty concentrating, or a sense of "brain fog"
- Low mood, irritability, or reduced motivation
- Poor or disrupted sleep
These symptoms overlap with thyroid conditions, sleep disorders, depression, and other issues—which is exactly why evaluation matters. The goal is to identify the real cause, not to assume it.
AM I A CANDIDATE FOR TESTOSTERONE THERAPY?
Candidacy for TRT is determined by lab work and a full clinical evaluation, not by symptoms alone. During your consultation at Enhance Aesthetics & Wellness, Marina will review your health history, discuss your symptoms and goals, and order bloodwork to measure testosterone and related markers. Testosterone therapy is not appropriate for everyone—men who are trying to conceive, or who have certain prostate or blood-count concerns, may need a different approach or closer monitoring. If TRT is not the right fit for you, Marina will say so directly and discuss the alternatives.
