Enhance Aesthetics & Wellness offers ALCAT food and chemical sensitivity testing as one tool within a broader investigation of immune-mediated sensitivities. ALCAT measures cellular response patterns to food and chemical exposures; results inform an individualized elimination-and-reintroduction plan.
ALCAT does not diagnose food allergies in the IgE-mediated sense - those require different testing pathways. And it is not a standalone diagnostic: it is a starting point for a structured process, guided by a clinician.
HOW WE USE ALCAT AT ENHANCE
The test looks at how your white blood cells respond when exposed to specific foods and chemicals in vitro. At Enhance it is one signal in a longer conversation about how your body is reacting to things. We use it most often as the starting point for a structured elimination trial, with results revisited based on what your body actually does when foods come back in - the reintroduction phase is where the real answers come from.
AN HONEST WORD ABOUT THE EVIDENCE
The clinical utility of ALCAT testing is debated within the allergy and immunology community, including by the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology (AAAAI). We tell you that up front because informed clients make better decisions. Results should be interpreted as one signal within a comprehensive assessment, not as a standalone diagnostic or treatment for any specific condition - and Enhance does not present ALCAT as a treatment for any named medical condition. Marina Roloff, DNP, FNP-C, will discuss what the test can and cannot tell you before you decide whether it belongs in your plan.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Testing is performed through a simple blood draw. Results identify your reactive response patterns, which Marina reviews with you. From there you receive a structured elimination-and-reintroduction plan and follow-up support to implement it well.
Our ALCAT testing clients drive in from across Yuma County. We work with Foothills residents, Somerton and San Luis families, and clients from neighboring communities.
Information on this page is educational. ALCAT results are one input within a comprehensive assessment and are not used to diagnose or treat any medical condition. Consult Marina Roloff, DNP, FNP-C, for guidance specific to your situation.
