Prescription treatments, including neuromodulators such as BOTOX®, dermal fillers, hormone therapy, and weight-management medications, require a face-to-face medical evaluation. Whether a treatment is appropriate for you is decided at that visit.
Some medications prescribed at Enhance are compounded by licensed pharmacies under 503A patient-specific prescriptions after an individualized medical evaluation by Marina Roloff, DNP, FNP-C. Compounded medications are not FDA-approved finished pharmaceutical products. FDA approval of a brand-name product does not transfer to a compounded preparation, and results reported in clinical trials of brand-name products may not apply to compounded preparations.
When compounded hormone preparations are used in your therapy, those preparations are not FDA-approved finished pharmaceutical products. The benefits and risks of compounded bioidentical hormone therapy compared to FDA-approved hormone therapy have not been established by the FDA. Hormone therapy carries known risks including breast tenderness, fluid retention, mood changes, and, depending on regimen, cardiovascular, thromboembolic, and endometrial considerations. A face-to-face consultation, lab evaluation, and ongoing monitoring are required.
Weight-management medications, including compounded GLP-1 receptor agonists such as semaglutide and tirzepatide, carry known risks including nausea, vomiting, constipation, gallbladder disease, and pancreatitis; less commonly, low blood sugar (especially with diabetes medications), severe gastrointestinal complications, and rare allergic reactions. People with a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma or Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2, and people who are pregnant or breastfeeding, are not candidates. Weight-loss outcomes depend on individual factors and are not guaranteed.
Statements about IV nutrient therapy have not been evaluated by the FDA. IV therapy is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. Consult Marina Roloff, DNP, FNP-C, before starting IV therapy, especially if you have kidney, heart, or other medical conditions, are pregnant, or take prescription medications. Toradol® (ketorolac) is a prescription anti-inflammatory medication offered with certain IV protocols only when clinically appropriate; it has specific contraindications.
Vitamin injections at Enhance are compounded by a licensed pharmacy. Statements about these injections have not been evaluated by the FDA. They are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.
IPL is not appropriate for all skin types. Higher Fitzpatrick skin types carry an increased risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. An Enhance clinician will assess candidacy at your consultation.
SkinPen® is FDA-cleared for facial acne scars in adults 22 and older and for neck wrinkles. Other applications, including stretch marks or hyperpigmentation, are off-label and outcomes vary. Risks include redness, swelling, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (especially in higher Fitzpatrick skin types), and rare infection.
Some treatments may be used off-label, meaning for a purpose not listed in the product's FDA labeling. Marina Roloff, DNP, FNP-C, will discuss the off-label nature, the available evidence, and your individual risks and benefits at your consultation.
