WHAT IS A CHEMICAL PEEL?
A chemical peel applies a clinician-selected exfoliating solution to remove damaged outer layers of skin and encourage smoother, more even-toned skin as it renews. At Enhance Aesthetics & Wellness in downtown Yuma, peels are tailored to each client's skin type and goals, from light "refresh" peels with minimal visible peeling to deeper treatments planned around your schedule.
A peel is controlled exfoliation. The solution loosens the bonds holding tired, damaged cells at the surface so your skin can shed them on its own schedule and replace them with newer cells underneath. Lighter peels do this gently with little visible flaking; stronger peels go deeper and trade a few days of peeling for a bigger change in texture and tone. We choose the depth based on your skin, not the other way around.
WHAT CAN A CHEMICAL PEEL HELP WITH?
Depending on the depth selected, a chemical peel may improve the appearance of:
- Dull, rough, or uneven skin texture
- Fine lines
- Sun-damaged skin - a constant challenge under the Yuma sun
- Uneven tone and the appearance of mild discoloration
- The appearance of acne-prone skin
Visible peeling, redness, and temporary sensitivity vary by peel depth and individual skin. Higher Fitzpatrick skin types carry an increased risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, and peel selection accounts for this. Strict sun protection is required after treatment. Individual results vary.
HOW IT WORKS AT ENHANCE
Every peel starts with an assessment. An Enhance clinician evaluates your skin type, history, current routine, and goals, then selects the peel depth and formulation that fits - including how much downtime works for your schedule. Light refresh peels are a popular lunchtime option with little to no visible flaking; deeper resurfacing is planned around your calendar so peeling days land when you want them.
Peels pair well with a medical-grade skincare routine, and many clients alternate peels with DiamondGlow facials or SkinPen microneedling as part of a longer-term skin plan.
Chemical peels are performed at our downtown Yuma office. Clients come from the Foothills, from Somerton, and from San Luis for clinician-guided skin care.
